Wow...that was really sad to read. As a fellow diver I'm sure you can agree that there is always a bit of a wake up call to realize that our sport can be dangerous and we must be aware and respect the mighty creatures of the ocean. After all, our playground is another creatures dinner table. Terribly sad also for the witnesses. How helpless they must have felt. Sadly also for the shark and for the reputation of sharks world-wide. More evidence to support peoples fear of sharks. I know one person personally who will read this and say, "see, that's why I NEVER go swimming in the ocean." Have a good Sunday with your family Lionfish.

Becky,

Funny, as I was ill, I had to ring up and cancel my place on a dive boat (first chance this summer).

I think the guy at the dive shop did not believe me when I said that "I have come down with the flu"...there must of been numerous other calls.

As soon as their is a shark attack - the Dive industry dies for a number of months. The film Jaws nearly killed it completely.

I truly believe that Whites should not be protected as they are at the top of the food chain and growing in disproportaionate numbers - as evidenced by the attacks.
